Healthy world-Audience questions


Are there any focus groups on sickness and wellness. We have so much info on how to stay heathyScott: the item that triggers search is usually ‘sickness’. This is true for now. It is important for people to learn how to care for themselves….but, we have a compliance problem. People who are unhealthy need prevention but are not motivate by this.#2 Audience: when trust comes into play (for pregnant women), the audience do not want to see corporate banners. They prefer medical organizations. Where do we find the most trusted sites?Scott: We do not direct folks to one site only We recommend people go to non-profits but be careful who funds these non-profits as well. many non-profits are funded by larger organization. The rest of the participants are now joining the stage. Emilio- AARP. 39 million member organization. 50 years old. Key issues we have found is the issue of inter-generationl conversation between the various ages. The older sector “boomers” are experiencing critical events that are forcing us to navigate the system. This conversation should become ‘storytelling’. Storytelling in the realms in healthcare is about the ‘collective voice’. Divided we Fail.org is a campaign that is promoted by AARP to engage the audience. We are focused on using the collective voice to have a social impact. This is a societal need AND an economic need. Healthcare is becoming the most important issue of our time…and it cannot be solved by one party. It will include the voices of many. We need to open the conversation of ‘stories’….this conversation is now going into the business sector….never done before. this is the power of WeMedia. Don Jones: Qualcomm….We are the largest designer of chips used in the world. Using wireless connectivity ….integrated circuits that can communicate via an implant in the body -to combining cellphones to your invasive features. Bring content to people when they need it. Using technolgies for health.Grant: Humana (4th largest insurance company)…Empowering consumers: We focus on helping consumers become empowered. Health Entertainment is another area we focus on.  We find research tells us ‘health is allowing people do what they want to do”.  We are also involved with renting bikes in France. We have games in health….sensors on the body. Imaging kids playing  and they have to run around the house…as fun. Human’s Innovation Center to focus on health. Humana is creating technolgies that will help you see yourself 5, 10, 15+ years in the future. Microsoft launched many tools for health. There is alot of fragmentation within health care. We have been working with these different services…and realize how dizzying it can be. Microsoft wants to empower consumers. We put consumers at the center of the many entities in health care. We are not alone in this perspective. when you map illness to wellness…..one common theme…while one company cannot solve all of the problems…by empowering the consumer, who will in fact face all of these institutional, chronic issues, and the entire health care ecosystem we notice that everyone will share a common need. Microsoft offers storage capabilities.Device conductivity…can also empower consumers at home. Microsoft wants to solve the problem of creating a platform for all of the devices to be mediated through. Search is an important component for healthcare. Microsoft spends alot of time analyzing searches….so now we have a solution for people to conduct refined ‘searches’. Microsoft offers a wide range of solutions through their search capabilities….and these programs will help individualize your search. Andy: Kaiser Permanente Federation: I am the only one on the panel you can trust (laughter). I am a doctor and responsible for creating health information for all of our 13,000 physicians. We have already empowered our members. 2 Million (80,000 more each month)…are being taken care of carefully. As a consumer, I can see the physician…I can ask them questions….I can arrange to pick up prescriptions…. Our members do not have to file claims… we provide all of their care. CONSUMERS HAVE THE POWER. Our members are the locus of control. I feel proud, Kaiser leads the revolution. AUDIENCE IS INVITED FOR QUESTIONS…STAY TUNED
